USED MOTOR OIL

Massachusetts Law requires that retail stores that sell new motor oil, take back used motor oil.  Just inside the door of our local Walmart store there is a cart for used motor oil.

HOWEVER, not everyone is comfortable taking used oil back to a store.  Maybe you can't remember where you bought it, or maybe you've never seen anyone else bringing back used motor oil.

ANYWAY, there are other options.

Dean's Repair Shop, located at 112 West Road, Adams, is a DEP-registered Collection Center for Used Motor Oil.  There is no charge to residents to drop off their oil.  The repair shop is open regular business hours.

Dufour Tours Inc., located at 133 South Street, Hinsdale accepts used motor oil at their garage Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm and Saturday 6 am to 10 am.  There is no charge.

Village Truck Sales, located at 800 Cheshire Rd, Lanesborough accepts used motor oil.  They are open regular business hours.  There is no charge.

Also, a motor oil collection tank is located at the Williamstown Transfer Station.  Williamstown and the District received the tank with a Department of Environmental Protection grant.  There is no charge, however residents must sign a log and leave their oil with the attendant.
